Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is Uganda’s national electricity distribution utility, headquartered in Kampala, responsible for distributing power to homes and businesses across the country. Official organisation information.

UEDCL is recruiting a Procurement Manager – Operations at its Nakasero head office to lead tenders, procurement planning, PPDA compliance, contract and supplier management, and to manage and mentor procurement staff.

• Manage tendering in line with company policy and the PPDA Act.
• Prepare bidding documents, manage tenders and evaluate bids fairly.
• Coordinate annual procurement plans aligned to strategy and projects.
• Ensure PPDA compliance and escalate non-compliance.
• Plan the prequalification of providers.
• Manage acquisition and disposal from needs assessment through tender, negotiation and award.
• Research supplier and market trends and advise the business.
• Develop local-content and sustainable-procurement strategies.
• Process contracts with the Contracts and Performance Management team.
• Maintain the procurement risk register.
• Participate in audits and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare reports for senior management, the Board and regulators.
• Maintain procurement records.
• Lead, mentor and develop procurement operations staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (Finance).
• A Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
• MCIPS is required.
• Membership of a relevant professional body is required.
• At least 8 years’ supply-chain experience, including 3 years in leadership.
• Experience in PPDA and procurement law, ERP and procurement systems, tendering, sourcing, negotiation, contracts and supplier risk.
