AHPC is a statutory body established under the Allied Health Professionals Act, Cap. 296. It regulates, supervises and controls allied health professionals, including their registration and licensing. Official organisation website.

The Quality Assurance Officer – Diagnostics implements regulatory quality-assurance programmes across diagnostic services. The role carries out audits and standards assessments, analyzes inspection findings, tracks corrective action and supports continuous improvement.

• Assess institutions and facilities against accreditation and quality-assurance standards.
• Help develop and review quality standards, inspection tools, manuals and guidelines.
• Collect, analyze and maintain quality-assurance data.
• Conduct quality audits of training institutions, facilities, laboratories and other regulated entities.
• Analyze inspection findings and prepare audit and standards-assessment reports.
• Recommend and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor compliance with the Act, regulations, standards and Council guidelines.
• Review quality complaints, refer alleged misconduct and conduct stakeholder sensitization.

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology/Science registrable by AHPC, or a diploma in a registrable Medical Laboratory Technology/Science discipline plus a relevant bachelor's degree.
• Registered and licensed by AHPC, in good standing and up to date with the published register.
• A relevant master's degree, postgraduate diploma, or Administrative Law Certificate is an added advantage.
