Uganda Breweries Limited is part of East African Breweries PLC (EABL), which is majority owned by Diageo, the global drinks company behind brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys and Guinness. EABL runs breweries, distilleries and distribution networks in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and is listed on the stock exchanges of all three countries.
Uganda Breweries has brewed at Port Bell in Luzira, Kampala, since 1946. Its Demand Sales teams work with retail and wholesale accounts to make sure the company’s beer, spirits and adult non-alcoholic drinks are present and prominent across every channel.
About The Commercial Performance Analyst Role
The Commercial Performance Analyst sits in the Demand Sales business and supports Divisional Sales Managers and field sales teams in delivering their planned commitments. You will track performance, run standard quality meetings, analyse depletions and their drivers, and compare actual sales with forecast, then recommend remedial action. With the wider commercial performance team, you will find value-driving opportunities and help turn insights into action.
Execution and control are just as important. You will help keep inventory at optimal levels across the supply chain, raise sales force productivity on retail calls, audit use of point-of-sale materials, and make sure stock takes and reconciliations leave no exposure to UBL. You will also check that distributors use the DMS tool properly and keep master data and records accurate, working closely with field sales, finance, logistics and supply.
Key Responsibilities

- Implement the Divisional Annual Operating Plan (volume, NSV, GM and operating profit) and the commercial strategic agenda with back office and field teams.
- Run targeted performance tracking, analysis and standardised quality meetings, including depletions and drivers of depletion.
- Offer appropriate coaching and ensure sales calls are well implemented.
- Supervise actual sales performance against forecast and provide analysis and recommendations for remedial action.
- Ensure optimal inventory levels throughout the supply chain to optimise working capital, reduce cost and improve efficiency.
- Ensure sales force productivity is maximised through well-managed retail call activities.
- Ensure effective use of POP materials is regularly audited.
- Ensure effective stock takes and reconciliations so there is no exposure to UBL.
