About The Company

Tugende is a for-profit social enterprise that provides asset and SME finance, leasing, insurance and financial literacy to entrepreneurs who cannot easily access formal credit. Formally established in Uganda in 2012, it uses a lease-to-own model so customers can own income-generating assets such as motorcycles.

The company has financed more than 30,000 customers and has expanded into Kenya. Its name means “let’s go” in Luganda, a nod to what passengers say on the back of a boda boda.

Tugende has been recognised as an Unreasonable Fellow, an Echoing Green Global Fellow and a GSBI Fellow, and won the MIT Zambezi Prize in 2015 as one of Africa’s top financial inclusion startups.

About The Inventory Coordinator Role

As Inventory Co-ordinator, you will help Tugende keep accurate control of stock and assets across a multi-branch operation. The advert describes the profile it wants rather than listing daily duties: someone experienced in conducting physical stock counts, reconciliations, inventory reporting and asset tracking, who uses ERP or inventory management systems and coordinates with procurement, finance, operations and branch teams.

The position reports to the Finance Manager, which places inventory accuracy firmly within financial control. Tugende is looking for strong inventory planning, demand forecasting, stock optimisation and asset lifecycle management skills, together with the ability to guide teams, monitor performance and drive accountability. It suits a detail focused supply chain or inventory professional with at least two years of experience who wants to work in asset finance and spot opportunities to automate processes.
