About The Company

SafeBoda is a Ugandan technology company that began in Kampala in the mid-2010s, when co-founders Ricky Rapa Thomson, Alastair Sussock and Maxime Dieudonne set out to professionalise the boda boda industry. Its first promise was simple: trained riders, helmets for passengers and transparent fares ordered through a smartphone app. That model changed how many Kampala residents move around the city, and SafeBoda now describes itself as having served millions of people across East Africa.

About The Role

The Corporate Sales Representative (Fintech & Payments) drives SafeBoda’s business-to-business payments growth. You will hunt for organisations with recurring payment needs, map out how they pay today, and design commercial propositions built around SafeBoda’s Bank of Uganda-licensed payment products. Most of your time is in the field, meeting decision-makers in Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Operations and IT at medium and large organisations.

Closing the deal is only half the job. Once an account is live, you track its transaction activity, push volumes higher, spot cross-sell and upsell openings and step in early when retention is at risk. You will work with SafeBoda’s internal teams to clear onboarding, operational and product issues, and you will be measured on sales, revenue and transaction-volume targets as an independent contributor.

Requirements & Skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective B2B fintech customers.
  • Prospect and engage decision-makers across Finance, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, IT and related functions.
  • Understand customer payment processes and develop tailored commercial solutions.
  • Lead opportunities from prospecting through negotiation, closure and onboarding.
  • Consistently achieve agreed sales, revenue and transaction-volume targets.
  • Monitor customer transaction activity and identify opportunities to increase volumes.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across SafeBoda’s fintech products.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts and proactively address retention risks.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve onboarding, operational and product issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Education

  • The advert does not specify a degree. A qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Commerce or a related field will support your application.

Work Experience

  • 1โ€“3+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development or account management.
  • Experience in fintech, payments, financial services, technology or a related industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience selling to medium and large organisations.
  • Strong experience managing complex B2B sales cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers and develop strategic accounts.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to work a field-based role across Kampala and surrounding business districts.
  • Availability to start in October 2026.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

  • B2B Prospecting and Closing: Strong hunting, prospecting and closing skills across long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Payments Solution Selling: Understanding customer payment processes and turning them into tailored commercial proposals.
  • Pipeline Management: Keeping a disciplined, accurate pipeline from lead to onboarding.
  • Account Growth Analytics: A data-driven approach to monitoring transaction volumes and growing accounts.
  • Negotiation: Negotiating commercial terms with Finance, Procurement and Treasury decision-makers.

Soft Skills

  • Value Selling: Ability to sell value and business outcomes, not just price.
  • Relationship Management: Building trust with key accounts and handling retention risks early.
  • Communication and Presentation: Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ownership: High ownership, accountability and target orientation as an independent contributor.
  • Collaboration: Working with internal product and operations teams to fix customer issues.
Benefits & Application

Why Apply
