About The Company

Jubilee Insurance was established in August 1937 in Mombasa as the first locally incorporated insurance company in East Africa. It has since grown into the region’s largest composite insurer, covering life, pensions, general and medical insurance, with more than 450,000 clients.

The group operates in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi and Mauritius, and is listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange and the Uganda Securities Exchange. Its regional businesses are rated AA- in Kenya and Uganda and A+ in Tanzania.

This vacancy is with Jubilee Life Insurance Company of Uganda Limited, the group’s life and pensions business in Uganda, regulated by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda.

About The Internal Audit Officer Role

The Internal Audit Officer helps the internal audit team plan and carry out audits, evaluate internal controls and confirm that the business complies with its policies and with regulation. Day to day, you will gather financial records, policies and procedures, run preliminary data analysis to spot trends or issues, perform audit tests directed by the Head of Internal Audit, and prepare the workpapers that support audit findings.

The role also faces outward. You will support external auditors with accurate records and audit queries, help the company meet Insurance Regulatory Authority requirements during inspections and regulatory reporting, and keep up with industry best practice and emerging risks. Your key deliverables are accurate, organised audit workpapers and timely completion of assigned audit tasks, which makes this a solid step for an auditor who wants deeper insurance sector exposure.
