The Systems Analyst will oversee and manage the systems analysis function, combining strategic planning, operational execution, regulatory compliance, team leadership and delivery of technology objectives.

The position holder will identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, translate business and regulatory needs into technical solutions, support system deployment and performance, and build a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Strategy

• Develop and implement systems analysis strategies aligned with Jubilee’s objectives and insurance industry needs.
• Identify system improvements and enhancements that support business growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute systems analysis plans.

Operations

• Lead systems analysts and ensure timely, accurate completion of analysis projects.
• Analyse existing systems and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies and optimisation opportunities.
• Gather requirements with stakeholders, business units, IT and external vendors, and define system specifications.
• Oversee implementation and deployment of new systems or enhancements with minimal disruption.
• Monitor system performance and provide end-user support, troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Regulatory Compliance and Corporate Governance

• Ensure systems comply with relevant data privacy laws, insurance regulations and industry standards.
• Develop and enforce systems analysis policies and procedures, including data security controls.
• Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities and implement mitigating controls.

Leadership and Culture

• Build a positive, collaborative systems analysis team culture based on teamwork and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor team members and support their professional development.
• Promote continuous improvement, innovation and adaptability in response to industry and technology changes.

Education

• Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.

Relevant Experience

• At least 8 years of experience in systems analysis or a similar role within the insurance or related industry.
• Experience with programming languages, database management, networking, software development methodologies, and systems analysis and design.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Python or C#.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, Express or .NET.
• Strong database skills, including schema design, query optimisation and SQL or NoSQL databases.

Technical Skills

• Systems analysis: Requirements gathering, system design and process optimisation.
• Backend development: Java, Python or C#, with web framework experience.
• Databases: Schema design, query optimisation, SQL and NoSQL.
• Governance: Data privacy, risk assessment and security controls.
• Delivery: System implementation, deployment and end-user support.
