About The Company
CorpsAfrica is an international nonprofit, registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3) organisation and headquartered in Washington, DC, that lets young Africans serve as volunteers in their own countries along the lines of the Peace Corps model. It was founded in 2011 by Liz Fanning, a former Peace Corps Volunteer in Morocco, after young Moroccans told her they wanted to serve their own communities but could not join a programme open only to Americans.
CorpsAfrica/Uganda was established in 2023 with support from the Mastercard Foundation, and its first cohort served in 2023-2024. The programme held its inaugural Pitch Day in Kampala in June 2024, bringing together 130 people from 54 organisations to raise funds for Volunteer projects. In 2026 the Uganda programme appointed a new Country Director and opened recruitment for a new Volunteer cohort with a special focus on refugee and Ugandan youth, working on livelihoods, resilience and economic opportunity.
About The Role
The Office Assistant – Uganda keeps the CorpsAfrica/Uganda office running smoothly every day. You will look after cleanliness and order across workstations, meeting rooms, the kitchen and common areas, make sure drinking water, tea and refreshments are always available for staff and guests, and handle waste disposal in line with health and environmental standards. You will report to the Executive Assistant and also support the Operations Officer with simple purchase requests and inventory records.
The role mixes office welfare with basic administration. You will file, photocopy and scan documents, welcome visitors at reception, deliver and collect parcels and papers within Kampala and to partner offices, and help set up meetings, trainings and staff welfare activities. Because the Uganda programme is still building its team, you will be part of a small office where reliability, honesty and initiative are noticed quickly.
