About The Company
River Flow International (RIFI) is a Ugandan social enterprise of science educationists, researchers and innovators working to improve the quality of education across Africa. It began as River Flow International–Science Teachers’ Initiative, launched in 2017 by Hon. Rosemary Seninde, then Minister of State for Primary Education, and works closely with the Ministry of Education and Sports and the National Curriculum Development Centre.
RIFI designs practical, curriculum-aligned teaching and learning materials, from an ECD literacy and numeracy kit of more than 70 items to primary science kits, O-level competence-based science kits and laboratory manuals. It also runs a Teacher Support Platform with lesson guides, demonstrations and a helpline, and says it has delivered more than 250,800 activity-based science books and trained more than 320 science teachers.
The organisation is working towards 5 million scientifically literate learners and 50,000 equipped science teachers by 2028. Its head office is at Plot 859, Maya Town, Masaka Road, with branch offices in Ntinda (Kampala) and on High Street in Mbarara.
