About The Company

Unifi provides quick, straightforward personal loans to everyday African borrowers, who can apply at a branch, online or by mobile. The lender is active in five countries (Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania and South Africa) and describes itself in three phrases: “Boldly different. Fiercely human. Proudly African.”

Unifi calls its approach “touch and tech”. Branch and field teams look after clients in person, while Unifi’s own technology and data analytics teams power fast lending decisions in the background. In Uganda, its loan products are delivered through a branch network that now reaches towns well beyond Kampala.

The company says it believes deeply in the potential of the continent and its people. Placing client growth staff in districts like Kisoro is part of how Unifi expands that reach to borrowers outside the big cities.

About The Role

This is a field sales job focused on one thing: bringing new clients to Unifi in Kisoro. Kisoro sits in Uganda’s south-western corner near the Rwanda and DR Congo borders, with an economy built on farming, cross-border trade and gorilla tourism around Mgahinga and Bwindi. That mix gives you a wide range of potential borrowers, from market vendors to lodge staff and teachers.

Unifi wants a passionate, outgoing person who will go out and meet people rather than wait for them. You will build and map your own list of prospects, convert leads, run presentations and help with public events and giveaways. You will also keep a client pipeline, follow up after each loan and send weekly and monthly work plans and performance reports. Kisoro’s hilly terrain is a big reason riding skills are on the list.
