About Pride Bank Limited

Pride Bank Limited is a government-owned Tier II Credit Institution regulated and supervised by the Bank of Uganda. Formerly Pride Microfinance, the institution was licensed as a Tier II credit institution on 26 November 2024 and officially rebranded to Pride Bank Limited on 29 April 2025. Led by Managing Director Veronicah Gladys Namagembe, with Head of Business Joseph Fetaa and Board Chairman Tumuheirwe Francis, Pride Bank is headquartered at Victoria Office Park, Block B, Bukoto (Plot 6-9, Ben Kiwanuka Okot Close, Kampala).

About The Role

The Relationship Manager – SME will be based at Pride Bank’s head office and work across the entire 45-branch network to support the SME business unit in acquiring new clients, deepening existing relationships, and achieving business growth and asset quality targets for the SME segment. Reporting to the Manager SME, you will contribute to strategy formulation, continuously identify prospects and build a pipeline, develop profitable partnerships, and manage customer relationships to drive cross-selling, digitisation, and product uptake.

This is a front-line business development role with a strong credit and trade finance dimension. You will support branches on high-quality credit proposal preparation to meet turnaround time targets, follow up customers to ensure timely servicing of credit facilities, solicit deposits from SME clients, negotiate and structure transactions, and maintain well-documented relationship records. The advert specifically calls for a strong background in handling trade finance transactions, a skill that Pride Bank has only recently introduced under its Tier II licence, meaning you will be building this capability across the branch network from the ground up.

  • Support the branches on the timely and efficient preparation of high-quality credit proposals to achieve the turnaround time targets and gain competitiveness in the SME market.
  • Proactively follow up customers, and support branch staff to ensure that SME customers service their credit facilities on time to achieve the set portfolio quality targets.
  • Support branches to solicit deposits from SME customers in order to meet business liability targets.
  • Develop and maintain well-documented reports, visits, and contracts with all the Bank’s relationships, management, and other units and support branches to ensure that contact with customers is well documented.
  • Maintain a strong background in handling trade finance transactions and use this experience to deepen customer relationships.

Benefits & Application

Benefits

Pride Bank offers a competitive compensation package for this strategic SME business role. As a government-owned Tier II institution with profit growing 41% and deposits surging 58% in 2025, Pride Bank is in a high-growth phase backed by Government of Uganda capitalisation commitments. The bank’s 45-branch nationwide footprint, newly launched trade finance and SME corporate loan products, and digital transformation strategy create a dynamic environment where your relationship management skills will be directly tied to portfolio growth and institutional impact.

Why Apply

  • Join a bank in its most exciting growth phase: Pride Bank only received its Tier II licence in November 2024, profits grew 41%, and deposits surged 58% in a single year. The SME segment is central to the 2026-2030 strategy.
  • Be at the forefront of Pride Bank’s trade finance capability: letters of credit, performance guarantees, and invoice discounting were only launched under the new Tier II licence, meaning you will help build this product line across 45 branches.
  • Work from head office with a nationwide remit, supporting the entire 45-branch network on SME client acquisition, credit proposals, deposit mobilisation, and portfolio quality.
  • Pride Bank is government-owned with explicit capitalisation support from the Ministry of Finance, giving you the backing and stability of a state-owned institution combined with the commercial ambition of a bank targeting digital-first transformation by 2030.
  • Gain exposure to Uganda’s most impactful financial inclusion programmes: PDM (UGX 2.6T+ disbursed), GROW Project, Agricultural Credit Facility, and Emyooga, all running through Pride Bank’s branch network.
  • The bank has served over 327,000 depositors and disbursed 2.2 million loans since inception, meaning your SME relationships will be built on a foundation of deep community trust and national reach.
  • Pride Bank’s newly launched products (SME Corporate Loan, Forex Savings Account, Mortgage Loan, Home Improvement Loan) give you a broad cross-selling toolkit that most Tier II institutions cannot match.

How To Apply

Interested candidates should forward their applications as one PDF document including a detailed CV to the Head People & Culture via email at recruitment@pridebank.co.ug or through the Pride Bank careers page at pridebank.co.ug/jobs, no later than Monday, 5th October 2026.

Application Tips

  • Lead with your trade finance experience: the advert specifically calls for a “strong background in handling trade finance transactions”. Describe the instruments you have handled (LCs, guarantees, invoice discounting) and the client relationships you deepened through trade finance.
  • Quantify your SME relationship management results: state the number of SME clients in your portfolio, deposit volumes mobilised, credit proposals prepared, and portfolio quality metrics you achieved.
  • Show you can work across branches: this is a head-office role that supports 45 branches. Describe any experience coordinating with or supporting branch teams on client acquisition, credit processing, or deposit mobilisation.
  • Highlight credit proposal experience: Pride Bank wants you to support branches on “timely and efficient preparation of high-quality credit proposals”. Mention turnaround times, approval rates, and how you structured proposals for the SME segment.
  • Ensure your O-Level and A-Level certificates are ready: the advert requires at least a pass in Mathematics and English at O-Level and two principal passes at A-Level. These are hard filters.
  • Submit as one PDF document. Apply via email to recruitment@pridebank.co.ug or through the pridebank.co.ug/jobs portal.
