About dfcu Bank
dfcu Bank is part of dfcu Group, one of Uganda’s longest-established financial services firms. Originally founded in 1964 as the Development Finance Company of Uganda by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC), the Government of Uganda, DEG (Germany), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), dfcu was created to finance long-term development projects that fell outside the appetite of traditional commercial lenders. Over 62 years later, the bank offers a full range of personal, business, and corporate banking products and services.
About The Role
The Relationship Manager – Infrastructure is responsible for managing and growing corporate relationships within dfcu Bank’s infrastructure business segment. Reporting to the Sector Head, you will originate new business in line with targets, deepen wallet share with existing clients, and deliver a best-in-class customer experience to multinationals, large corporates, development organisations, government entities, and parastatals.
This is a front-line revenue role that blends sales, credit knowledge, and relationship management. You will analyse the competitive landscape, gather market intelligence, conduct regular client visits, cross-sell across borrowing and non-borrowing accounts, and work closely with Senior Relationship Managers and segment heads to sharpen your product and market understanding. If you are energised by closing deals, building long-term client partnerships, and working at the intersection of banking and infrastructure development, this is the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide superior relationship management to ensure customer retention, loyalty, preference, and devotion across corporate relationships.
- Work with Senior Relationship Managers or segment heads to upskill understanding of market dynamics, sales strategies, and product knowledge.
- Sell the bank’s products to corporate customers including multinationals, large corporates, development organisations, government entities, and parastatals to enhance growth in customer numbers and achieve overall financial targets.
- Analyse and compare the bank’s product offering, service quality, pricing, and financial performance against competition; provide market intelligence and feedback to remain relevant and competitive as the preferred financial provider.
- Identify new or additional business openings in the market through research and information gathering.
- Improve relationship management through regular client visits, timely feedback, and continuous anticipation of client needs with the aim to exceed expectations.
- Cross-sell and retain borrowing and non-borrowing clients in branches; maintain a clean and updated client database.
- Address and resolve corporate customer complaints and provide feedback in a timely manner.

Application Tips
- Quantify your sales track record: state the size of the portfolio you managed, revenue originated, and how you performed against targets. dfcu is looking for a proven closer.
- Highlight infrastructure-sector experience if you have it. This role sits in the infrastructure desk, so any exposure to project finance, energy, construction, or government lending will differentiate you.
- Demonstrate cross-selling results: the role specifically requires growing wallet share across borrowing and non-borrowing clients, so give concrete examples of products you have cross-sold.
- Show you understand the competitive landscape: mention how you have gathered and used market intelligence to win or retain clients against competitor banks.
- If you have experience with multinationals, parastatals, or development organisations, name them (where appropriate) to show the calibre of your client portfolio.
- Prepare for a credit-knowledge test: dfcu values sales paired with credit skills, so brush up on credit analysis, lending structures, and risk assessment before interviews.
- Apply through the official dfcu careers portal using Google Chrome. Ensure your CV is current and your cover letter references the Infrastructure segment specifically.
