About The Company
One Acre Fund is a non-profit social enterprise founded in 2006 that helps smallholder farmers grow more food and earn more money. It supplies quality farm inputs, tree seedlings and credit, delivered close to farmers’ homes, together with practical agronomy training and other agricultural services.
The organisation works across nine African countries that together are home to about two-thirds of the continent’s farmers, and employs more than 9,000 full-time staff. One Acre Fund says its model raises farmer income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent on average.
The Uganda programme started in 2014 and serves more than 34,000 farmers with farm supplies and fruit trees such as avocados. It is headquartered in Jinja with a small Kampala presence, and works mainly in Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli and Buikwe districts.
About The Role
The Regional Data Coordinator leads data work for One Acre Fund’s region around Mubende. You will set up, deploy and manage digital survey tools for field data collection, then clean, structure and analyse the large datasets that come back, turning both numbers and field feedback into practical recommendations that improve results for farmers.
You will also oversee regional data processes and research and development field trials, using feedback from Field Managers and back-checkers, and you will train and mentor regional teams and field staff on survey design, data hygiene and collection tools. It suits someone who is equally comfortable in a spreadsheet and in a training session with non-technical staff. One Acre Fund offers weekly manager check-ins, mentorship and career reviews every six months.
