Women In Technology Uganda (WITU) is a nationally recognised non-profit organisation founded in 2014 by CEO Barbara B. Mutabazi. Starting with just two computers and seven participants in Kampala, WITU has grown into one of Uganda’s leading women’s empowerment organisations, reaching over 50,000 women and girls across 56 districts. The organisation employs approximately 33 staff and operates from offices in Kampala (12 Corporation Rise, Bukoto), Mbarara (Amazon Mall), and Northern Uganda.

The Program Instructors will deliver practical digital skills training and mentorship to young women in Gulu as part of WITU’s programmes. You will develop and adapt learner-centred training materials, integrate digital safety, responsible technology use, and Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV) prevention into your sessions, and track learner progress while maintaining training records.

This is a consultancy engagement based in Gulu, Northern Uganda, with three positions available. Beyond training delivery, you will support reporting, safeguarding, and coordination with the wider WITU training team. • Deliver practical digital skills training and mentorship.
• Develop and adapt learner-centred training materials.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant digital or technology field.

Work Experience

• Two to three (2-3) years of experience in digital skills training or ICT facilitation.

Additional Requirements

• Practical expertise in digital marketing, graphic design, content creation, or data analytics.
• Knowledge of digital safety and TFGBV prevention.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.

Technical Skills

• Digital Skills Training: Practical ability to teach digital marketing, graphic design, content creation, or data analytics to learners from underserved backgrounds.
• Curriculum Development: Experience developing and adapting learner-centred training materials for diverse audiences.
• Digital Safety & TFGBV: Knowledge of digital safety practices and Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence prevention and how to integrate them into training.

Soft Skills

• Facilitation: Strong facilitation and communication skills for engaging young women from diverse educational and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor and support learners through their digital skills journey, tracking progress and adapting approach to individual needs.
• Safeguarding Awareness: Understanding of safeguarding principles and commitment to maintaining safe learning environments.

This is a consultancy engagement with WITU, offering the opportunity to work with one of Uganda’s most impactful women’s empowerment organisations. You will gain experience delivering digital skills programmes backed by international partnerships (Adobe, Cadence, Isahit.com) and contribute to WITU’s goal of reaching 4,800 young women by 2027.
