St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor is a private, not-for-profit Catholic hospital in Gulu, founded in 1959 and one of the largest hospitals in Northern Uganda.

It provides general and specialist care, runs training schools and serves patients across the Acholi sub-region and beyond.

The Technical Department keeps the hospital’s buildings, plumbing, vehicles and compound in working order so clinical teams can focus on patient care.

Positions Available

• Carpenter: Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent.
• Plumber: Certificate in Plumbing or equivalent.
• Mason: Certificate in Building/Masonry or equivalent.
• Painter: Certificate in Painting or equivalent.
• Mechanic: Certificate in Motor Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent.
• Compound Attendant: O level certificate.

General Requirements

• Certificate from an accredited training institution in the relevant trade.
• Practical experience in the respective field.
• Good workmanship and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work in a hospital environment.
• Flexibility and multi-tasking skills are an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Trade skills: Certified in your field.
• Maintenance: Repairs and upkeep.
• Safety: Hospital-safe work.
• Tools: Proper equipment use.

Soft Skills

• Reliability: Works unsupervised.
• Flexibility: Multi-tasking.
• Teamwork: Hospital staff.
• Workmanship: Quality finish.
