About The Company
MOGO Uganda, registered as Mogo Loans SMC Limited, is an asset-financing and consumer-lending company headquartered at Lugogo Office Park, Plot 54 Lugogo Bypass, Kampala. It is licensed by the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA) as a non-deposit-taking microfinance institution and is a subsidiary of Eleving Group, an international fintech group operating in 16 countries across three continents.
About The Role
The Area Sales Manager (Device Financing) owns sales growth for MOGO’s smartphone and device loans in a defined geographic area. You will lead a team of Field Sales Managers, set the local sales strategy, and work with partner dealers and shops to make sure devices are presented well and customers are signed up correctly. Forecasting and KPI reporting to the Regional Managers is a core part of the job.
The role is hands-on and commercial. You will watch competitor activity and customer preferences, adjust tactics, manage appointments and leads across the territory, resolve dealer and customer issues, and work with marketing and product teams on what customers need. With device financing one of MOGO’s fastest-growing lines, the territory you build can grow quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Strategy & Execution: develop and implement sales strategies tailored to the assigned territory, identify new business opportunities and achieve sales targets.
- Client Relationship Management: build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Team Leadership & Development: manage, mentor and motivate a team of Field Sales Managers, providing training and support to improve their performance.
- Market Analysis & Intelligence: monitor market trends, competitor activities and customer preferences to adjust sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
- Sales Reporting & Forecasting: provide accurate sales forecasts, track performance against targets and report on key performance indicators to the Regional Managers.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with marketing, product development and other teams to ensure alignment and optimise sales performance.
- Product Knowledge & Promotion: demonstrate products, provide training and ensure effective product presentation to clients.
- Meeting Sales Targets: consistently meet or exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Territory Management: manage the assigned territory effectively, including customer appointments, lead management and business intelligence.
- Customer Service: address dealer and customer inquiries, resolve issues and ensure a positive experience.
- Maintaining Records: keep accurate records of sales activities, customer and dealer interactions, and market information.
- Staying Updated: keep up to date with product knowledge, industry trends and sales techniques.
