About The Role

The Digital Impact Manager will provide enterprise-wide leadership for UNICEF Uganda’s digital impact agenda, shaping strategy, governance, and investment across programme and operations. Working with senior leadership, government, development partners, the private sector, and UNICEF teams, you will build strategic alliances, influence digital ecosystems, and drive scalable, responsible solutions that strengthen national systems, improve organisational performance, and accelerate sustainable results for children and young people.

This is a P-4 level international professional position that spans four core areas: fostering innovation and digital transformation (piloting, evidence generation, and scaling of priority initiatives), enhancing ICT and digital governance (building internal and external relationships and capacity), delivering excellence in ICT services and systems (creating an enabling environment for UNICEF Uganda staff), and improving delivery results across the country programme. You will work at the intersection of technology, development, and child rights in one of UNICEF’s most dynamic country offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster innovation and digital transformation (DX), and oversee piloting, evidence generation, and scaling of priority Digital Transformation, Digital Impact, and Innovation initiatives.
  • Enhance ICT, Digital Transformation, Digital Impact, and Innovation governance, collaboration; build internal and external relationships and capacity.
  • Deliver excellence in ICT services and systems to create an enabling environment for the release and management of organisational ICT services to UNICEF Uganda staff.
  • Improve delivery results across UNICEF Uganda’s country programme through digital technologies, data, and innovation.
  • Shape strategy, governance, and investment for digital impact across programme and operations.
  • Build strategic alliances with government, development partners, the private sector, and UNICEF teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Software Engineering, Information Technology Management, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Eight (8) years of relevant work experience in Information Communication Technology, Digital Impact Project Management, Business Operations, Networks Information Security, large international organisational experience, or related fields.

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage complex digital and ICT projects, including piloting, evidence generation, and scaling of digital solutions. PRINCE2 or ITIL certification is valued.
  • Business Analytics: Skill in using data and analytics to support evidence-based decision-making and improve programme delivery results.
  • Information Security & Risk: Experience in information security, audit, and risk management within a large international or UN environment.
