About The Role
The Pharmacy Orderly keeps medicines moving safely around the hospital. You will pick medication from the pharmacy for the wards against nurses’ requisitions, return unused medication to the pharmacy, and help receive and deliver the weekly pharmacy consignments from IMGP to the wards. You will also deliver stores items to wards and the pharmacy.
The role supports patients directly too: you will help take patients to radiology and other investigations and pick up their results. In the pharmacy you will dust and arrange drug shelves, clean the refrigerator weekly and record it, attend departmental meetings and help with pharmacy data entry and admin. It is a physically active job that suits someone who is organised, careful and quick on their feet.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick medication from the pharmacy to the wards according to the requisitions made by the nurses.
- Return all unused medication from the wards to the pharmacy.
- Support with taking patients to radiology and for other investigations, as well as picking results.
- Make deliveries of stores items from the stores to the specific wards and the pharmacy.
- Assist in receiving and delivering the pharmacy’s weekly consignments from IMGP to the respective wards.
- Attend pharmacy departmental meetings and participate in pharmacy department activities.
- Dust the shelves and arrange the drug shelves.
- Clean the refrigerator on a weekly basis and document it.
- Assist with pharmacy-related data entry and administrative requirements.

- Minimum of a UACE qualification.
