Twyford International Uganda is hiring a Security Team Leader for their factory and facilities in Kapeeka, Uganda. This is a full-time security leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all security operations across the factory, warehouses, offices, and surrounding premises. The role leads a team of security guards, monitors CCTV and access control systems, responds to incidents, and maintains relationships with local law enforcement. Candidates need a minimum Diploma in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or Business Administration with 5 to 7 years of security operations experience including 2 to 3 years in a supervisory role. Factory, industrial, or large-scale corporate security experience is required. Prior military or police experience is a strong advantage. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

About The Role
The Security Team Leader oversees and coordinates all security operations at the factory, warehouses, offices, and surrounding premises. This includes leading a team of security guards, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, managing access control, responding to incidents, and maintaining relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services.
This is a shift-based role (nights, weekends, holidays) requiring physical fitness, residence in or near Kapeeka, and a clean criminal record. A valid driving permit is required.
Key Responsibilities
Security Operations & Surveillance
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily security operations to protect company property, personnel, and assets.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
- Conduct regular patrols of factory premises, warehouses, offices, and perimeter fences.
- Ensure all entry/exit points are secured and vehicle/personnel access is strictly controlled.
Team Leadership & Incident Response
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of security guards with daily shift assignments and patrol routes.
- Conduct regular briefings, drills, and performance reviews.
- Respond promptly to incidents including theft, vandalism, trespassing, fire, and medical emergencies.
- Coordinate with local police, fire services, and emergency responders during critical incidents.
- Conduct preliminary investigations and prepare incident reports with corrective actions.
Access Control & Reporting
- Supervise registration of visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel; verify identification and issue passes.
- Monitor vehicle and goods movement; verify against dispatch documents.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, visitor logs, vehicle movement, and shift handovers.
- Prepare regular security reports summarising incidents, trends, and recommendations.
Training & Community Relations
- Conduct security awareness training for employees and train guards on procedures and equipment.
- Organise regular security drills and maintain equipment inventory.
- Build relationships with local police, community leaders, and neighbouring businesses.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education
- Minimum Diploma in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is an advantage.
- Formal security training or certification from a recognised institution is highly desirable.
Work Experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in security operations, with 2 to 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven experience managing security teams in a factory, industrial, or large-scale corporate environment.
- Experience in incident response, access control, and CCTV monitoring.
- Prior military, police, or law enforcement experience is a strong advantage.
Other Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) for incident reports and management briefings.
- Proficiency in Luganda and/or Swahili is a strong advantage.
- Valid driving permit.
- Physically fit for foot patrols and emergency response.
- Willingness to work shifts (nights, weekends, holidays).
- Must reside in or relocate to Kapeeka or nearby areas.
- Clean criminal record is mandatory.
