The Quality Assurance Analyst will champion and coordinate business requirements reviews, develop test strategies and test plans, create functional and non-functional test cases, and execute testing activities across Stanbic Bank Uganda’s IT projects. The role works collaboratively with business units, project teams, and the Group Enterprise Architecture (GEA) team to ensure software quality, drive SQA framework maturity, and validate that deployed solutions meet business requirements. This is a management-level position within the IT department, requiring expertise in both manual and automated testing across multiple testing disciplines.

• Champion and coordinate business requirements reviews across functional teams, ensuring requirements are complete, precise, and testable
• Define and create overall project test strategy/test plan, plan test schedules, identify test resources, and estimate test effort in accordance with project scope and delivery dates
• Develop, document, and maintain functional and non-functional test cases, test scripts, test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts
• Execute and validate test cases based on business requirements, ensuring traceability from test cases to requirements
• Collaborate with GEA and stakeholders to tune SQA processes, adopt tools, and define reusable templates aligned with the SQA Framework maturity
• Define test processes including required test activities and deliverables, conduct Test Readiness Assessments, and establish test beds for white box and black box testing
• Engage with technical teams on non-functional testing including integration, regression, load, performance, security, and usability testing
• Prepare and review test results, report defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws, and develop test acceptance reports
• Perform post-deployment sanity and regression tests and post-implementation reviews to confirm deployed solutions meet business requirements
• Participate in formulation and implementation of software process improvement policies and strategies for the IT division

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field (required)
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or Project Management (added advantage)

Professional Certifications

• ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (preferred)
• Certified Agile Tester (added advantage)
• Certified Scrum Master (advantageous)
• Microsoft Test and Quality-related certifications (added advantage)

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Information Technology with focus on Business Analysis, Software Development, or Quality Assurance
• Experience in at least two IT disciplines such as application development, middleware, SOA, and Software Quality Assurance
• Prior working experience in Software Quality Assurance
• Exposure to Software Testing Automation

Technical Skills

• Software Quality Assurance: Deep expertise in SQA methodologies, test strategy development, and test case design for functional and non-functional testing
• Test Automation: Exposure to software testing automation tools and scripting for automated test execution
• Testing Disciplines: Experience across integration, regression, load, performance, security, and usability testing (white box and black box)
• Operating Systems: Experience with Windows and Unix operating systems
• Database Management: Experience with database management systems for test data management and validation
• Development Knowledge: Understanding of application development, middleware, and SOA architectures
